Yes – it’s true. There is an interesting trend nowadays to include our cherished canine friends in wedding celebrations. Dogs are not only attending these events, they participate in the ceremony! We have seen examples of this with dogs playing the roles of ring barrier to flower girl to best man!
A few things to consider:
First, bring a dog handler If the dog is present during the ceremony, and have the dog handler nearby in case the doggie decides he needs to take a trip outside! Remember to bring extra poop bags!
Second, plan a set time that the dog will participate in the ceremony, in the photos, at the reception and when he will leave for home – say, by 8 PM.
Next, practice with the dog! For example, If the dog is bringing the rings down the aisle, make sure she is not performing her task for the first time.
Plus – be sure to check with your vendors to make sure that they allow non-service dogs at their sites.
I love dogs, and having them be part of the wedding celebration is very sweet. And don’t forget that Gown Preservation Professionals is proud to help you preserve your gown to its original condition – even dirty paw marks come out!
